The first SR-Λ (lambda) series was introduced 30 years ago, and now the SR-407 have adopted the same sounding body (sound element) as that of the top model SR-507.
The conventional sound element has employed simplest structure so that as wide film diaphragm area as possible can be effectively used in comparison with its external size. Taking advantage of the conventional feature, the new sound element has been packaged in a tough resin case. Thus the new sound element has realized cleaner sound and better reliability.
Class-A all-stage DC amplifier circuit configuration eliminated coupling capacitors throughout the signal path. High-voltage dual triode 6FQ7 / 6CG7 are employed in the output stage, and the input stage features a simple two-stage amplification using low noise FET that are hand selected.
NEW THIN-FILM "SUPER ENGINEERING PLASTICS" MATERIAL
New thin film material "Super Engineering Plastics" almost free from stretch through temperature or humidity has been adopted, enabling both the rich, deep low frequency and the delicate high-frequency sound.
The emitter-follower circuit with high-voltage bipolar transistors adopted for the output stage of the SRM-323S enabled low output impedance resulting in increased drivability and wide high-frequency dynamic range. Moreover, the power transformer equal to that of the SRM-006tS has been adopted to achieve more powerful derivability. One simple RCA input is equipped with a parallel-out terminal directly providing the incoming signal. Two 5-pin output sockets are connectable to all pro-bias compatible earspeakers. The SRM-323S employs a double-axis volume controller to control left-and -right channel volume level independently without using a balance volume controller.
The SR-207 earspeaker has employed a new sounding unit (sound element). The conventional sound element has simplest structure so that the area of film diaphragm can be used as effectively as possible compared with its external size. Taking full advantage of these conventional features, the new sound element has been packaged in a tough resin case. Thus, the sound has become cleaner and the reliability has been further improved. The thin film of a new material with very little elasticity by temperature or humidity has been adopted for the diaphragm, which has realized both the rich bass with tension and the delicate treble sound.
The SRM-252S is an exclusive driver unit (amplifier) for driving STAX ear speakers with PRO-bias 5 pins. Its line input can directly connect to the audio output terminal of CD player, portable audio player and PC. The SRM-252S has a simple design that excels in sound quality employing the carefully selected newest high-voltage transistors and low-noise FETs. The output stage featuring the emitter-follower configuration reinforces the driving performance and also realized the smooth sound quality. Moreover, the class-A amplification throughout the stages with no coupling capacitors reproduces exhaustively the finest nuance of music. Although the SRM-252S includes a class-A DC amplifier in a compact CD jacket size case, the internal heat is effectively dissipated through the chassis of aluminum extrusion material to improve the reliability over a long period of time. Also, the parallel output terminal was added to distribute the source signal so that a loud speaker may also be simultaneously used when source equipment has only a pair of output terminals.
The SR-009 is the product of the repeated research trip to technology and material search without deviating from their stance to return to live sound and music always with refined sensitivity.
It will exactly be as a result of "work" each predecessor piled up, if a race, a company, and an individual have "pride". The newly developed sound element has been adopted in the SR-009. New high polymer ultra-thin film material called the super engineering plastics - the reinforced material of the conventional engineering plastics - is employed for the diaphragm of the sound element. Materials superior especially in tone quality have been selected to attain the extremely excellent frequency characteristic from low to super-high as well as the vast dynamic range.
New electrodes named MLER (Multi Layer ElectRodes) have also been developed to realize the plane drive of the whole film diaphragm surface. While infinite thinness and flatness are required for the fixed electrodes, they simultaneously need to have other characteristics such as low resonance, high transmissivity of sound wave, and so on. The entirely new electrodes have been completed through the unification of metal plates processed with ultra-precision photograph etching using the high technology of heat diffusion combination on the atomic level.
